Whether you want to treat yourself or it’s for a special occasion, I’m sure this chocolate vegan cake will bring a smile. Because after all, why should a chocolate cake be reserved for parties?
1 tsp coconut oil, melted.
55g coconut flour.
120g coconut sugar.
25g cocoa powder.
1 tsp baking soda.
1/2 tsp salt.
150g apple sauce.
1 tsp vanilla extract.
250ml almond milk.
Preheat your oven to 180º.
Grease and line an 8″ springform tin with the melted coconut oil and parchment paper.
Mix the dry ingredient – coconut flour, coconut sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt in a mixing bowl.
Make a well in the middle then add the wet ingredients – apple sauce, vanilla extract and almond milk.
Transfer the cake mixture to the springform tin and level out.
Bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Check it’s baked through by inserting a skewer. If it comes out clean it’s baked. If the skewer has some cake mixture on it, bake for 2-3 minute longer.
